About - Inspiration of Autumn Stream
The inspiration for this environment came from last years change of season in the area that I live in. I focused heavily on learning advanced shaders in UDK, mood lighting and crafting a beautiful landscape.
I am vevy pleased with its outcome which I feel matches the quality of many AAA games. For instance, the stream I created can easily be modified to change the speed of flow, the depth and intensity of the waves and ripples and also how froffy the water it.
The scene took me about two weeks to complete using Autodesk Maya 2012, Adobe Photoshop CS4, CrazyBump and Epic's Unreal Development Kit 3.
It is featured on the cover of bestselling book 'How to Become a Game Designer' by Joshua brown.
